Steve Young, a writer for The Late Show With David Letterman and an avid record collector, is obsessed with the subculture of industrial musicals, a strange underworld of productions performed for the staff of big businesses that found their heyday in the 1950s-70s. Though driven by very American principles, these Broadway to boardroom oddities were also fueled by a pure passion for singing and dancing, acting as a stepping-stone (and a paycheck!) for budding stars. The fading spotlight of these staged wonders is a dim memory, resurrected only through the vintage vinyl recordings unearthed by the few remaining enthusiasts. Filled with curiosity, and his impending retirement, Young goes on a quest to cue the lights on this nearly lost community of creativity. A heart-filled, family fun story for anyone who has ever lived their dreams!
