Sixteen-year-old Aicha and her mother Sarangbe confront their strained relationship when they remember a traumatic moment in their past that changed them forever. Their extended separation and sacrifice a continued struggle in their attempts to connect.
Aicha is a filmmaker, student, and activist. As a child, she came to the US fleeing gender-based violence in Guinea, West Africa. She became interested in film as a tool for social change through the Glamour Magazine initiative, The Girl Project. In 2017, Aicha was accepted to be a Tribeca Film Fellow.
